come-what-may-challenge is a challenge where they will post a "Maybe This or Maybe That" prompt every other day in May 2026 and create come up with works that are inspired by it.

retrowrimay is a month long challenge using prompts that were popular in the past. The prompt list is here.

may-lancholy is a multifandom prompt based whump event running throughout May

idproquo, a gift exchange for "iddy" fan works, is accepting nominations until April 24th, 10PM ET.

jukebox_fest, an event where creators exchange art, fic, or podfic, taking songs and music videos as the canon for inspiration, is accepting nominations until April 25th.

everythingisfemslashex, an f/f exchange (both canon and genderbent - cis and trans are welcome), is open for sign-ups until April 26th, 8PM GMT+1>

allbutromance, an exchange focused on all kinds of platonic relationships, is open for sign-ups until May 3rd, 8PM CEST (UTC+1).

whumpex, a multifandom "whump" themed exchange, is open for sign-us until May 4th, 8PM PST.

genprompt_bingo, a bingo challenge using gen style prompts, is open for Round 30 sign-ups.

whatif_au has opened sign-ups for their 3rd annual anniversary bingo challenge. It is running till July 31st.

Scripts from the Crypt #19: Der Januskopf (1920), Apparently a full script of Der Januskopf was found, but whoever found it has been sitting on it for months. Hoping they actually get to release it to us peasants. I shall refrain from complaining about these guys' "amazing" opinions.

How missing episodes from ‘The Daleks' Master Plan’ were found, an interview with Sue Malden, former BBC archivist.

TCM's Classic Film Festival (2026) will premiere a new restoration of Letty Lynton, the "forbidden illegal", as the hotvintagemod on Tumblr put it, Joan Crawford movie. At this point, I should just embrace I quite like her work. Johnny Guitar was the last one I saw and it was mesmerising.

Ivor Novello: A Story of the London Fog, a very short article, but Michael Williams wrote an entire book about Novello, his movies and his persona (plus him being a gay icon, which at the time was largely ignored, and without a doubt some today still make an effort to straightwash him). Good little intro and a taster.

In other news, I'm becoming obsessed with The Rat trilogy. Why do I think it's slowly becoming a commentary on Novello's fame and how the critics, erhm, critisised him for being too pretty (and not of the marrying kind)?

It seems every time I come here, there is another loss. This one happened so long ago its reminding me how distant I've become.

I honestly can't remember how I first met

minoanmiss they've just always sort of been there, randomly sending me things they thought I (and the kids in my care) would like, and they were always right. I cherished so much all the surprise treats that would just somehow show up and put a smile on my face. They were a much better friend to me than I was to them and I'm just going to have to sit with that for a long time.

And try to be better.

So, this is me being here, asking after you. How are you? What's driving you crazy? What's giving you joy? How can I help put a smile on your face? Who can I raise hell towards on your behalf?
