A little more than half the writing time has now gone by, and the deadline is starting to approach. How goes it, everyone? I hope all is well, but please don't hesitate to let me know if you have any questions or concerns. You've got until 23.59 GMT on the 20th of April to add your fic(s) to the collection — so don't panic, there's still plenty of time.

A big thanks to everyone who has signed up so far, return participants and newbies alike!

If your writing is coming along nicely (or if you'd like to procrastinate), you can do some canon promoting here, or maybe just check out what others have posted.

I have started writing and the fic is ending up SO much longer than I thought it'd be 😂 I'm getting close to the end, though!

I'm having fun with my story so far. It's shaping up to be ficlet-sized, but the flexibility to do that is one of the things I love about this event. :D

Yay, it's wonderful to hear you're having fun with it -- that's the most important thing! And I'm really glad to hear that that's something you enjoy about BTF :D Me too; it always puts a smile on my face to see the wide variety in not just fandoms but also word lengths -- from drabbles to epics and everything in between.

I am, for once in my life, ahead of schedule and have finished my fic! It's not nearly as long as I'd intended it to be, but I'm pleased with it :)

Good job, you! Bravo on being ahead of schedule for once -- I can't claim it's something that happens often to me either, but when it does it sure feels nice!

When I signed up I had wanted to write about the MC and her girlfriend. But then I had a sudden idea about a side character that I couldn't get out of my head, and it kept growing and growing. I only have time to write one, so I decided to write about the side character instead as I was more inspired to write her story than the MCs. Who knows if in the future I don't write that one too!

Hi! I’ve just seen this and realised I missed signups this year ㅠㅠ

Would I still be able to submit something to the collection if I submit it to another event collection first, so it would already be revealed, before then adding it to this before the deadline and the collection closes?

Thank you for running this for so long!! If I can’t include my fics this year, I’ll definitely keep a keen lookout for the next round next time!

Hi there! Sign-ups are open indefinitely, so it's never too late -- and they aren't a must to begin with either; if you want you can simply add your fic(s) to the collection and that's totally fine.

As for your question, I've always answered no in the past. When the collection opens it's meant to be a bunch of new stories, not ones that have already been posted. That said, someone did this on the sly recently, and it wasn't as if I kicked their fic out or even said anything -- so, in order to be fair (and out of gratitude for you asking), I'm fine with letting it slide here too as long as it's just a couple of days. If it's much longer than that, like if the fic will have already been revealed for a week, then I'm sorry :(
