Hello, everyone! This is just a quick heads-up about the coming flash round, which will begin in early September. So if you'd be up for another round this year, but aren't too keen on the flash aspect, then please take this as your cue to get started a little ahead of time. I hope to see you then!

Hi there, glad to hear you might join in!

1. An AO3 account isn't required. At the end of the challenge I will make a round-up post here in the community, with a list of all fics regardless of where they were posted. So all you need to do is send me a link to your work before the deadline, so that I can include it. Here is an example from a previous round -- stories posted outside AO3 are marked with an asterisk, to make them easy to find for those who prefer to browse via the collection.

2. Sorry, but I'm afraid that counts. Most of the fandoms written for Be The First only have that one fic, so an exception like that just wouldn't work. I hope you can find something else to write for!

Ah. That's a shame; that's the only obscure fandom I've got. :-/

I'm sorry to hear that. Any type of canon is welcome, so if you're ever inspired by a song or a painting or whatever then that would work just great! If not, then I hope you stick around anyway -- writing isn't the only way to take part in this challenge.
