Dates for the second round?

Hi there, it's a new year, and that means another round of Be The First! I hope everyone who took part the first time will be up for it again, and that there'll be some new faces as well. Let's aim for breaking the record we set last year, and create fics for even more fandoms this time :)

Now, I'd like to ask you guys about the schedule: Would you prefer retaining the one we had before (sign-ups start mid-February, stories go live towards the end of April), or get things going a bit earlier (moving it up a month, basically, with reveals being mid-March instead)? I'll include a poll with this post -- if you can't use it, please just leave a comment and I'll manually include your vote in the end tally.

I'm glad you're running this again!

For me personally, I have multiple other fic exchanges and events going on in the first few months of the year, and March especially is totally full for me. If it's an option, I'd vote for moving it later rather than earlier.

If the choice is between keeping it the same or moving it earlier, though, I'd vote for keeping it the same.

Oh, I see... It used to be that the beginning of the year was fairly slow when it came to exchanges and such, but I guess that might be changing. The reason I personally wanted to get it going early was because of some RL things I have happening in April. I don't know how much I'll be able to be online then, so I might be incommunicado some days -- which isn't really ideal during the last days of a challenge ^_^; And even later than that I'm really unsure of how things will be, so I'm sorry, but that's why there was no poll option for moving it later. Sorry about that, I really hope you'll be able to fit it into your schedule anyway!

I totally understand! It looks like this timing does work fine for the majority of people. I just figured I'd add my two-cents'-worth, since you were asking for opinions.

Oh yes, of course, and I'm glad you did! I just wanted to explain why I wasn't able to move it later, that's all. I'll keep the poll open for a couple of days longer, and then we'll see... I hope that knowing well in advance about the schedule might help, for those -- like yourself -- who are are busy around that time.
