Hi there, and welcome to the second round of Be The First! Nothing has changed since last time; this is still a low-pressure challenge to write a fic, of any length, for a fandom that previously had none. That's it! If you want to take part, just reply to this post :)

The FAQ is right here, and I'd be happy to answer any additional questions you might have. The AO3 collection for this year can be found here, and I'll be putting up a fandom promo post in roughly a week (to give you some time to decide what to write for).

Quick rundown: You have two months to write. The deadline is at 23.59 GMT on the 20th of April, and the archive will go live at at 00.01 GMT on the 22nd of April. You can submit up to two stories, as long as they are for different fandoms.

Last year we managed to write twenty-one fics, and my goal this year is to beat that. Let's go for it, guys! :Db

I hope to write for either Snow Line (https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=7499), a one-volume BL manga by Kada Michiru, or Asterisk (https://www.mangaupdates.com/series.html?id=3878), an eight-volume BL...ish manga by Morimoto Shuu.

There's fic for a manga called Asterisk on ff.net, but it seems to be a different manga with the same name (there are at least three, AFAIK).

Both titles are a little hard to Google, being common phrases, but I did my best. I found a dedicated LJ comm for Asterisk/Morimoto Shuu, but it didn't seem to have any actual fic posted.

If there IS English fic out there please let me know, I'd be happy to be wrong!

I read Dick Francis's Flying Finish a couple of days ago and came up with an idea. As far as I can tell, there are no stories on FF.net or AO3; so it seems to be eligible.
