Ten days till deadline!

Hey guys, just a quick reminder that there's now only ten days left to submit your stories. The deadline is at 23.59 GMT on the 20th of April (with the collection going live at at 00.01 GMT on the 22nd).

There are currently five fics in the collection, so we're gonna have to work hard if we are to beat last year's twenty-one! Write like the wind :Db

I never actually officially signed up for this challenge, I realise, but I have written a fic for it - is it ok to submit it to the collection?

Oh yes, absolutely! The sign-up period is actually open all the way to the deadline, and hell, signing up isn't even a must. So please go right ahead and add your story :)

I ended up posting a comment to the FAQ and then wondered if you'd get that, so I'm going to post it here to be sure since this is more recent:

I was going to write a fic for Born of Hope, but I found one fic tagged with a main char from it on AO3. However, they never tagged it with the fandom, probably because they took a character from Born of Hope, made it AU (so the char lived instead of died), and dropped them into LOTR however many years later. There are no other chars or locations from BoH used. Would my fic still count as the first fic for BoH, or does the existence of this fic (https://archiveofourown.org/works/519912) disqualify it?


I should note that I have the ficlet (300 words - I apparently love triple drabbles) already written now and title and summary planned, I'm just needing to know if I can post it to the collection or whether I need to just post it as an ordinary collection-less work. :)

(I'm temporarily posting it to the collection while I wait to hear from you, so I can finish editing it to 300 words exactly - my text editor doesn't usually agree with AO3 so I always write till I'm close and edit when it's posted - and if you say it's disqualified, I'll remove it from the collection and let it be visible to all.)
