Hello, and welcome to the third round of Be The First! Nothing has changed since the previous times; this is still a low-pressure challenge to write a fic, of any length, for a fandom that previously had none. That's it! If you want to take part, just reply to this post :)

Quick rundown: You have two months to write. The deadline is at 23.59 GMT on the 20th of April, and the archive will go live at at 00.01 GMT on the 22nd of April. You can submit up to two stories, as long as they are for different fandoms.

If you'd like more information beyond those basic points, then you can find the FAQ right here. The AO3 collection for this year is here, and I'll be putting up a fandom promo post in roughly a week.

Last year we had a total of twenty-three fics, so let's aim for breaking that record! :Db

(My computer time is limited at the moment, so please be patient if you have any questions. It might take me a day or two to reply, but I promise I'll get back to you as soon as I can!)

I'm so glad to see this return for another round. I haven't decided on a fandom yet. But looking forward to it!

This is a great idea. I haven't decided on a fandom but I will give this a whirl for sure.

So excited by this exchange! I'd like to take part (as flowerdeluce on AO3) and will hopefully write something for The Disappearance of Alice Creed (2009)

I'd like to have a bash this year, since my writing mojo seems to have appeared again after over a year. I'll have a go at writing something for the Ballet Stroganoff series by Caryl Brahms and SJ Simon. It's hysterically funny, and hopefully I'll be able to write something without knowing much about ballet:

I'm so happy that this is running again!

I think I'll be writing for Sword Interval this time around; it's a really cool webcomic set in a world on the verge of a demon/supernatural apocalypse:

I'm so excited about this fest! I'm going to be writing for Tumanbay a fantasy/historical fiction podcast- now I just have to decide if I'm going to write the short, fun idea I have or the canon-divergent, way-I-wished-season-1-had-ended fic that could turn out to be a lot longer than I usually write.

(No LJ for me, but I'm Piinutbutter on AO3.)

I'm so glad this is running again! I'd like to try my hand at writing something for Murciélago, a manga about a lesbian serial killer who Fights Crime™. And if I finish that, there's no shortage of obscure video game fandoms I'd love to write for. :D

Ugh I can't find my LJ login. I'm hellkitty on AO3 and I'm slamming down my token to write Lady Mechanika fanfic. It's a steampunk robot lady detective series, with no love at all?!?!

I'm still thinking it over, but will most likely write a fic for the Kounodori J-drama: http://asianwiki.com/Dr._Storks

The main character is an obstetrician who moonlights as a pianist with the stage name "Baby". (Which is kind of silly but pretty funny, especially when Baby has to run out in the middle of a performance when his doctor alter-ego gets an emergency call.)

It's based on a manga, but I'm going with the drama version.

I might write for this although I'm not sure what fandom to write for yet. Probably the anime Garo: Vanishing Line or the Korean drama While You Were Sleeping or some other.

Sounds fun! If I can find a fandom to write in, that is. I was actually super hopeful about a new fun show I just watched (Imposters) but then I read the instructions about checking fanfiction.net too and there are a couple there. otoh, I got to a read a fic in the fandom, yay.

I'm blancwene on AO3, and I think I'll try writing something for The Shadow and the Star by Laura Kinsale. (It's a historical romance that has ninjas and Japanese swords and Hawaii and seamstresses, and yet still has good writing and realistic character arcs! I'm excited to try something post-canon.)

Hi! I would love to write for the television series Quark (more information here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quark_(TV_series))

I have requested this for Yuletide and gotten no takers, so it's time to write it myself! Pretty sure it has zero fics -- certainly none on AO3 or on fff.net.
