The deadline of 23.59 GMT on the 29th is almost upon us, which means that there's now less than half a day to finish your fic(s)! Technically, that is, because I'll throw in the same "surprise" mini-extension that I always do, and keep the collection open for submissions until an hour before reveals (which will happen at 00.01 GMT on the 1st).

Now, for something a little less panic-inducing! A kind and enterprising nonnie went through all the canons that've ever been written for this challenge, to see how many of them had gotten additional fics. This is the result:

84 fandoms still had 1 fic
22 fandoms had 2 fics
2 fandoms had 3 fics
2 fandoms had 4 fics
1 fandom had 5 fics
6 fandoms had 6 fics
2 fandoms had 8 fics
2 fandoms had 10 fics
1 fandom had 11 fics
1 fandom had 12 fics
1 fandom had 14 fics
1 fandom had 15 fics
1 fandom had 19 fics
3 fandoms had 20 fics
1 fandom had 30 fics
1 fandom had 678 fics (Joker Game)

They didn't exclude non-English fics, and out of the 134 fandoms listed on the main parent collection three had to be excluded (one for AO3 synning issues, and two for being umbrella fandoms).

I thought this was really fun to see — so many previously ficless canons have ended up growing into actual little fandoms :) A big thanks to the nonnie for all their hard work putting this together!

Hi, everyone! The deadline is now fast approaching, but a few people have expressed a wish of having more time to write. I'd be more than happy to go with the same extension as last year — i.e. the 29th — provided it's what the majority wants!

So let me know in the comments here (or by email or PM), and in two days I'll round up the votes and edit this post with the results.

We've all chosen tiny obscure canons, needless to say. So by doing a little promoting you might be able to entice someone else to give it a try — or perhaps you'll even run into a fellow fan, who can't wait to read your coming fic.

Your promo can be long or short, and contain whatever you feel like. Want to post a couple of intriguing screencaps from a movie? Quote a few paragraphs from a book? Rec the best episode of an anime or TV series? Talk about why you love your favorite character/pairing from your fandom? It's all good; anything goes!

Sign-ups always start on the 20th, but this round will be delayed by two days. Sorry! Due to RL circumstances I've been offline for a few months (which is why the proposed September flash round never happened, sorry about that too).
