Hi there, and welcome to the second round of Be The First! Nothing has changed since last time; this is still a low-pressure challenge to write a fic, of any length, for a fandom that previously had none. That's it! If you want to take part, just reply to this post :)

The FAQ is right here, and I'd be happy to answer any additional questions you might have. The AO3 collection for this year can be found here, and I'll be putting up a fandom promo post in roughly a week (to give you some time to decide what to write for).

Quick rundown: You have two months to write. The deadline is at 23.59 GMT on the 20th of April, and the archive will go live at at 00.01 GMT on the 22nd of April. You can submit up to two stories, as long as they are for different fandoms.

Last year we managed to write twenty-one fics, and my goal this year is to beat that. Let's go for it, guys! :Db

Oo, I was thinking of signing up to write that myself! (I'm putting off the final decision until I finish reading the second book.) If you need a beta, feel free to hit me up.

btw, we've had both requests and offers for A Study in Charlotte during the last couple rounds of [livejournal.com profile] holmestice, but no fills yet. I mention this just in case you're looking for a fannish exchange in which someone might write Charlotte for you.

Oh, thank you! I'll definitely keep Holmestice in mind.

I was really surprised there wasn't anything out there for the series yet. The books have so many different characters who feel like they're crying out for fic. I'm working on something about August and Milo for this, but there's so much potential -- Jamie/Charlotte, of course, but also Jamie's dad and Leander, and Charlotte and Lena, and Emma, and... yeah.

I forgot to come back and say: I've finished both books now! And goodness, but I'm interested to see what you're doing with August and Milo.

I've got a Charlotte/Lena piece half-drafted myself, but it's cracky enough that I'm still on the fence about it.
